INTRODUCTION
While some students are keen to learn languages regardless, there are those who are less motivated and/or find language learning a challenge. We should also consider whether learning grammar and vocabulary is really ever enough. Do our students know how to use this knowledge effectively to achieve their goals in the real world?
“Developing Skills for Real Life in the Language Classroom” hopes to show that by helping students to develop these skills in a supported, scaffolded way. We will not only better prepare these students for their future, but also provide them with a purpose for learning. We will also consider agency and how we can encourage each student to work to the very best of their own abilities.

Miércoles 17 enero. Employability: creating a convincing presentation and taking part in a successful interview.
Jueves 18 enero. Communication and Negotiation: writing a winning product description and knowing how to sell it.
Miércoles 24 enero. Problem Solving and Conflict Management: learning how to deal with common situations through role play.
Jueves 25 enero. Leadership and Decision Making: working on a collaborative task.
SPEAKER
Emma Heyderman has been involved in language teaching since 1989. She has worked for several well-known language schools, most recently, as Dierctor of Education for Lacunza-International House.
